The castle became a public museum in 1793, and Louvre Museum can today display it's visitors mid-evil, antique and more recent sculptures, paintings and artcrafts. The museum has also oriental and classical antiquities found at the great scientific excavations of the French government.
Louvre PyramidThe new entrance of the Louvre Museum was ready in 1989, and is now well known for the large glass pyramid - Louvre Pyramid - in the front.
In the Louvre you can experience among numerous art treasures famous artcrafts like Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci and the ancient Greek statue Venus de Milo.
